Powerful leadership is obvious when one sees it. It stands out like the lone oak tree in a field of wheat. You cannot miss seeing it and you marvel at the uniqueness and rarity in front of you. You cannot look away. Powerful leadership is very similar.


Powerful leadership is not additive as in (1+1+1) =3; it is much more. Powerful leadership has a “multiplying” eGect; diGerently said… (1+1+1) >> 3! Powerful leadership is exhibited in the collective team and organizational eGorts and achieved results. EGective leadership becomes powerful when employees are inspired and achieve more than originally expected. Powerful, impactful leaders invest their mindshare in three areas to deliver business results through powerful leadership. These three areas are: PEOPLE, BUILDING BUSINESS MUSCLE, and APPROACHABILITY. EGective leadership is about PEOPLE - empowering others thru eGective work delegation &

proportionate decision-making. EGective leaders drive teamwork by fostering a collaborative, motivated environment which is purposely resourced with clearly articulated objectives. The collective team yearns for opportunities to learn and expand their scope of contributions. Strong leaders recognize the time and place to facilitate investment in their employees and watch for the learning and growth to reveal itself.


Leaders should aim to establish & nurture an environment conducive to skill & talent

building. This is a work environment where employees exercise and BUILD BUSINESS

MUSCLES such as decision-making, prioritization, problem solving. These three and other

represent the employee’s business acumen. Leaders can meet the basic hygiene or

psychological needs of employees, including autonomy - providing a “long leash”

commiserate with accountability. This demonstrates trust and recognizes competence

which rewards the employee through validating their contributions. This enhances intrinsic

motivation and self-initiative.


The best leaders genuinely & authentically model eGective, impactful leadership traits

behavior by adhering to their own, articulated rules or instructions, showing a comfortable

confidence without arrogance and exuding a sense of APPROACHABILITY, (think Servant

Leadership). Approachability creates real opportunities for leaders to while meet employees

where and as they are in their professional and personal lives.

members as equal contributors to achieving success. Successful, powerful leadership is

achieved through the investment in human talent by facilitating varied assignments with

greater opportunities for impacting favorable business results.


By implementing these aspects in one’s leadership style, leaders can create an environment
